Any questions?
Do you supply the brick slips or just the rails?
Brick Slip Rails AND the brick slips are supplied by hup! Choose from a range of nearly 50 different bricks. If you cannot find an exact match, you can purchase the brick slips separately.
What external cladding systems do you recommend?
Most cladding systems can be used with hup! If you are close to a boundary, you will need to make sure that 'protected areas' have adequate fire protection. The Calcium Silicate board has an A1 fire rating and must be combined with a cladding of at least a A2 fire rating to be suitable for a 'protected areas' near a boundary.
Do I need to prime your calcium silicate board before rendering?
This depends on the type of render being used and the render manufacturer's recommendations. We use Kemwell board (Weatherkem). It's a calcium silicate rather than cement board so usually no primer would be required however, the installer should check manufacturer guidance on the render.
Can I render directly onto your Calcium Silicate Board?
Yes - it is designed for this purpose and does not need any extra preparation vs any other render board.
Can I paint the calcium silicate board? (usually on a boundary)
We would suggest the Emperor Exterior Wall Protection paint. It has a lifetime guarantee and costs £52 for 5 litres.
We would suggest painting the CS boards in a warehouse or somewhere under cover, individually then leave to dry. Once dry, they can be assembled into a wall and hinges into place using the boundary wall hinge solution.
